A Visit to Stockton Loving Hut Monday, September 19, 2011
In search of the Real Love, we arrive at Stockton Loving Hut, San Francisco at the nice afternoon of 26 Aug 2011. After figuring out the sophisticated street side coin operator for parking the car, we walked in to the welcome atmosphere of the first Loving Hut stop in our tour.
Stockton, located in Chinatown, one of the largest on the West Coast of USA, is where we find ourselves, and of course the friendly staff there whom we know quite well.
We tried the pot-sticker, and various other dishes, which of course is unverally loved by the Chinese people every where..
And dessert ? Surely, that will change any woman's hearts, the vegan cake !! Must try...
The tiramisu is phenomenal... Well it just might change a woman's heart, who knows !
Of course, we had to try the fabulous and ubiquitous boon huey..
Here at the far end of Chinatown, you can still see traditional Chinese herbal shops around, and warm comfortable feeling leaving us satisfied for the enjoyable afternoon there.

One day at Bukit Merah Central Loving Hut, the chef was kind enough to let me sample a new dish they had.. and it is called : Pongol Chilli Cha Cha
Ummm... Yum Yum... Don't you just love the texture !! Look at that !! Yummy delicious vegan seafood fare !! without killing a single animal !! Tasty and syrupy gravy with sweet pineapple chilli sauce, not so spicy that even kids will love it..
Why do people have to kill crab to extract the meat ?? It's cruel.. Every time we passed through a stall with crabs tied up in strings, that is cruelty.. we walked away as fast as we can.. how can anyone tie up a defenceless, sea creature and proceed to overpower it with strings, so it cannot defend for its own life, and then chop it down with a chopper ??
How have humans degraded themselves to such a state, so that they can derive just mere seconds of enjoyment in their mouth ?? Would you kill a young child ? Would you tie him up and chop him ?? Stop it... Stop the cruelty..
We have an alternative.. We have the vegan live style. And it is the God's will that we live without harming another being.. Please.. go vegan !

The latest outlet at BMC, Loving Hut is spacious and with a relaxing atmosphere. If the sun is not too hot, you enjoy the alfresco dining or lunch with protective aluminium awnings for shade. Inside you have the cool air con comfort, and free water self-service if you are not ordering drinks.
Take the SOS bus no 131 from Raffles Quay or Keppel Road. It brings you down to Bukit Merah where you can look out for Loving Hut at block 161.

Are you screaming for vegan ice cream ??Loving Hut heard you... And now in your friendly neighbourhood at BMC, Loving Hut offers two flavours of ice cream..
Yummy Yummy.. If you don't have enough of it, you can order the bigger tub versions, which cost about $12. For a light dessert after meals, these were just the right size for us..
For main meal, we have vegan fried rice. It's simple to cook fried rice at home, but the rice needs to be Q to be crunchy, and these at Loving Hut are just right to the taste..
Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri makes the call to go vegan completely or at least reduce your meat intake. This is the fastest and best way an individual can contribute to the solution for climate change. Why wait for scientists to come with a solution, which takes a long time? and far too slow... same with the beauracracy of governmental machinery. Take matters into your own hands.. You are the owner of your own destiny.

Sunday Special at Loving Hut BMC Sunday, October 4, 2009
It's cool !! The Sunday vegan special dish at Loving Hut BMC is none other than Singaporean's all time favourite food - vegan fried kway teow.
You've got to come to Bukit Merah Central Block 161 to see and taste this delicious dish. The vegan egg is incredible !! Oh, just look at that !! Look at the scrambled vegan egg !! Don't ask how it's done.. Just eat it and enjoy !!
A cool plum juice to go with the vegan fried kway teow !! Cooling in the hot climate.
This is the drink which came from the fruit that is said to quench the thirst of soldiers merely by mentioning the name of plum !! Can you imagine how thirst quenching it is ??
Take the SOS bus no. 131 from St. Michaels to Bukit Merah Central, it stops at Shenton Way just opposite DBS Building, so the office lunch crowd can head straight to Loving Hut !!

Here's a simple direction to the latest Loving Hut outlet at Bukit Merah Central.Take bus no. 132 outside Redhill MRT to the bus interchange. It is a 5 minutes ride
Alternatively at Tiong Bahru MRT, you can take bus no. 5 or 851. Other buses that go to the bukit merah bus interchange can be found here.
If you are taking bus no. 131 from Shenton Way or CBD area, look out for the SOS Global warming buses !
Once the bus stop at bukit merah bus terminal, take the pedestrian overhead bridge to cross the road, and turn left to walk towards Block 161.
Loving Hut is located just besides the POSB, and in front of Bukit Merah community library.
Every day at Loving Hut BMC, there are specialty dishes. On Saturdays the house special is Teochew porridge, eat-as-much-as-you-can buffet at $4.80 whole day.
On Mondays they close early to rest at 3.00 p.m. otherwise you can hang out till the evenings up to 9.30 p.m.

Traditional Malay Vegan Dish - Lontong Tuesday, May 19, 2009
Today we introduce the traditional Malay vegan dish, called Lontong.
It has several unique features. Rice cubes cut into perfect squares, looks nice and tasty. And the vegetable curry sauce, with cabbages and long beans cooked ripe and soft after stewing in curry for a long time. It is sweet and spicy due to coconut milk being added, which gives it a very distinctive South-East Asian flavour.
This vegan dish which can be ordered from Loving Hut Singapore as a buffet item, adds some garnishings such as carrots and brinjal, with a touch of hot sambal chilli.

SOS Singapore Loving Hut Exhibition Saturday, January 10, 2009
Here's a look at the recently concluded SOS Global warming exhibition held at Suntec City Loving Hut.
Many thanks to Loving Hut and Pangat Authentic Indian Cuisine. Both restaurants very kindly sponsored this exhibition event to raise Singaporean's awareness of the disastrous effects of global warming and the critical link between climate change and the meat-based diet.
Many people shopping at the Suntec City Mall were attracted to the imaginative decor of the exhibition and stopped by for a meal. They were given SOS flyers and watched the Supreme Master Television which was set up at a corner of the venue.
May many more Singaporeans become aware each day of the critical state of our planet, and make the new year resolution to Be Veg and Save our planet !

The big Christmas tree that adorns the CitiLink greets us on the underpass leading to Suntec City..
This area is teeming with office workers, tourists and shoppers alike. There are many attractions within the City and around it, and surely Loving Hut is one of the draws that kept us coming here.
